Job summary

The Fortune 500 food distributor in Conover is seeking an outbound supervisor to lead night-shift shipping operations. You will supervise 15–18 hourly associates, report to the Shipping Manager, and drive KPI performance in safety, cost, and productivity.

This role offers a base salary of $65,000-$75,000 with an excellent 20% annual bonus, strong benefits, and clear career advancement within a respected organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree a plus.
• 3+ years in warehousing/distribution is required.
• Experience supervising shipping, picking/order selection and truck loading.
• Familiarity with WMS and LMS systems.
• Strong KPI and productivity analysis skills.
• Ability to work night-shift hours and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shipping, order pulling, loading trucks, and delivery paperwork
• Hire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate warehouse associates
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely order pulling
• Confirm all orders are loaded in proper stop sequence for next-day delivery
• Ensure proper stocking and FIFO rotation for all received product
• Coordinate pick planning with Shipping Manager
• Utilize WMS and warehouse tech to maximize productivity
• Analyze productivity and recommend improvements
• Oversee building security and equipment safety
• Perform additional duties including covering routes when required

What You'll Lead

• Supervise 15-18 hourly associates
• Report directly to the Shipping Manager
• Drive performance across key KPIs: Safety, Cost Control, Individual Performance, Team Performance

What You'll Do

• Oversee shipping, order pulling, loading trucks, and delivery paperwork
• Hire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate warehouse associates
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely order pulling
• Confirm all orders are loaded in proper stop sequence for next-day delivery
• Ensure proper stocking and FIFO rotation for all received product
• Coordinate pick planning with the Shipping Manager
• Utilize WMS and warehouse technology to maximize productivity
• Analyze productivity and recommend improvements
• Oversee building security (locking warehouse, setting alarms)
• Ensure safe operation of all material-handling equipment
• Maintain compliance with all health and safety programs
• Perform additional duties as needed - including covering routes when required

What You Need to Have

• High School Diploma/GED (Associate degree a plus)
• 3+ years warehousing/distribution industry experience
• Food or foodservice warehouse experience a plus
• Experience supervising shipping, picking/order selection, and truck loading
• Strong KPI and productivity analysis experience
• Knowledge of WMS and LMS
• Strong service ethic and leadership presence
• Knowledge of OSHA warehouse standards
• Ability to work night-shift hours
• OSHA or forklift certification a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
