Job summary

Sysco Knoxville, LLC is seeking a warehouse associate to load pre-assembled merchandise and master containers for shipment. You will transport items on delivery vehicles under general supervision, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Ideal candidates are 18+, capable of Sunday work, night shifts, and comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

  • Good physical stamina for warehouse work.
  • Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads shipments as required.
  • Lifts boxes up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
  • Loads trucks according to instructions and maps.
  • Packs, wraps and loads product for shipment.
  • Operates stock trucks and jacks safely.
  • Maintains safety regulations and keeps areas clean.
  • Prepares products for shipment and handles as needed.

General Summary:

This is an warehouse position responsible for loading pre-assembled merchandise/pallets and master containers for shipment or transporting on delivery vehicles as directed under general supervision.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to read, write, and understand English. Basic arithmetic skills. Good physical stamina.

Essential Duties:
  • Loads and unloads shipments as required;
  • Constant lifting of boxes weighing up to 100 pounds each;
  • Loads trucks according to truck mapping and special instructions;
  • Loads product in a manner to avoid damages and maintain load stability to insure driver safety;
  • Wraps pallets by machine or hand to insure stability;
  • Unloads and cleans out trucks as necessary;
  • Operates stock trucks and mechanical jacks throughout the plant constantly in a safe manner;
  • Prepares products for shipment under general supervision by weighing, handling and transporting as necessary;
  • Marks, addresses, loads, and packs product for proper delivery and condition;
  • Hand loads product onto trucks as required;
  • Complies with all safety regulations and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 18+ years of age
  • Ability to work on Sundays
  • Ability to work nights
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred 3 months warehouse experience and/or 3 months operating an electric pallet jack or forklift and/or a history of physical nature roles preferred
