Job summary

Sysco has a warehouse loader position in Knoxville to load pre-assembled merchandise and pallets for shipment. Under general supervision, you will load trucks, handle pallets, and ensure safe, stable loads for delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload shipments; heavy lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Load trucks per truck mapping and instructions.
  • Wrap pallets to ensure stability and safety during transport.
  • Unload and clean trucks as necessary; operate stock trucks and jacks.
  • Prepare products for shipment; weigh, handle, and transport as needed.
  • Hand load products onto trucks as required; follow safety standards.

General Summary

This is an warehouse position responsible for loading pre-assembled merchandise/pallets and master containers for shipment or transporting on delivery vehicles as directed under general supervision.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Good physical stamina.
  • Loads and unloads shipments as required; constant lifting of boxes weighing up to 100 pounds each.
  • Loads trucks according to truck mapping and special instructions.
  • Loads product in a manner to avoid damages and maintain load stability to insure driver safety.
  • Wraps pallets by machine or hand to insure stability.
  • Unloads and cleans out trucks as necessary
  • Operates stock trucks and mechanical jacks throughout the plant constantly in a safe manner.
  • Prepares products for shipment under general supervision by weighing, handling and transporting as necessary. Marks, addresses, loads, and packs product for proper delivery and condition.

  • Complies with all safety regulations and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 18+ years of age
  • Ability to work on Sundays
  • Ability to work nights
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3 months warehouse experience and/or 3 months operating an electric pallet jack or forklift and/or a history of physical nature roles preferred
