The role directs multiple teams, coordinates risk screening, and develops outage templates and training, spanning pre-outage prep, execution, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field with 8 years of power plant experience including 3 years nuclear
  • Senior Reactor Operator license with 8 years of power plant experience including 3 years nuclear
  • Associate's degree with 10 years of power plant experience including 3 years nuclear
  • High school diploma/GED with 12 years of power plant experience including 3 years nuclear
  • Maintain access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the detailed outage schedule and plan development for the upcoming unit outage while ensuring safety and compliance with specifications
  • Oversee horizontal schedule reviews and vertical slice reviews
  • Direct the outage plan execution, coordinating with multiple departments and team leaders
  • Develop and implement the Shutdown Safety Program and outage readiness materials
  • Support outage readiness meetings, executive reviews, and post-outage lesson learned processes

Expected salary range of $147,600 to $164,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for directing the development of detailed plans / schedules for forced, planned, and refueling outages while ensuring shutdown safety, as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA) practice, technical specifications and plant procedures adherence. Directs the implementation of the outage schedule during the execution of the outage. Crosses all organizational boundaries working with all departments and designated team leaders for pre-outage preparation and execution.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities
  • Direct and coordinate the detailed schedule and outage plan development for the upcoming unit outage to ensure technical specification compliance and maintain shutdown safety in a manner consistent with station procedures, processes, and goals.
  • Participate and provide oversight of horizontal schedule reviews and vertical slice reviews.
  • Provide direction to all departmental planners, schedulers, and specialized teams for the outage plan and schedule preparation and execution.
  • Direct the development, implementation, and communication of the Shutdown Safety Program.
  • Direct the outage plan and schedule execution ensuring technical specification compliance while maintaining shutdown safety consistent with station procedures, processes and goals.
  • Support high impact teams tracking to provide oversight of effectiveness.
  • Coordinate risk screening in support of overall outage risk management.
  • Develop and maintain forced and maintenance outage plans. Coordinate outage control center (OCC) training and tabletop drills.
  • Support development of presentation material for outage readiness meetings and executive challenge meetings.
  • Conduct critiques for the capture of lessons learned.
  • Conduct gap analysis and updates to the clean energy center outage template.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical degree (engineering or maintenance, etc.) with 8 years of power plant experience with at least 3 years commercial or military nuclear experience in engineering, maintenance, operations, or work management OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 8 years of power plant experience with at least 3 years commercial or military nuclear experience in engineering, maintenance, operations, or work management OR
  • Associate's degree in business or a technical degree (engineering or maintenance, etc.) with 10 years of power plant experience with at least 3 years commercial or military nuclear experience in engineering, maintenance, operations, or work management OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 12 years of power plant experience with at least 3 years commercial or military nuclear experience in engineering, maintenance, operations, or work management
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous SRO license or certification
  • Previous outage execution experience
  • Shutdown Safety Program knowledge
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Expert level working knowledge of AS9/P6/Maximo
