Spectra Tech is seeking an Outage Laboratory Technician, level 1 in Richland, WA. The role involves supporting the Fitness for Duty program, collecting breath and urine specimens, and maintaining regulatory documentation per 10 CFR Part 26.
You will calibrate equipment, uphold strict confidentiality, and may be called out for off-hour site collections. Training on certifications and access controls is provided as needed.
Job Description:
Provide technical and administrative support to the Fitness for Duty (FFD) program, to include the collection of breath and urine specimens and maintenance of documentation in accordance with 10CFR Part 26, federal and state regulatory guidelines as applied by NRC, OSHA, HHS and the WAC. Responsible to conduct and certify others in specimen collection; responsible for calibration of collection equipment. Must be willing to be called out for off-hour site collections as needed.
Principal Accountabilities:

Skills and Experience:
Effective communications and human relations skills and the ability to discreetly handle sensitive/confidential information. Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and be proficient in the use of personal computer hardware, software, and various applications. Must have the ability to work under critical deadlines and stressful conditions. Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Columbia Generating Station.-In house training provided.
Required Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Must successfully complete a color blindness test, background check, and psychological evaluation. Must be able to be certified on the operation of the Alco-Sensor IV, RBT IV and refractometer. Must maintain these certifications. Must be able to obtain and maintain Train the Trainer Certification for Specimen Collection. Must be able to obtain and maintain Calibration Technician Instructor and Collector certifications.
