Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking an OTR Driver Second Shift to safely operate a tractor-trailer between production and distribution facilities. The role demands attention to safety, timely deliveries, and accurate logkeeping.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, position trailers at loading docks, and comply with DOT regulations while supporting our beverage distribution network. This position requires a CDL A license and forklift or dock experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licensing: DOT CDL Class A license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience: 2+ years tractor–trailer experience.
  • Testing: Able to pass PBV driving skills test.
  • Safety: Must pass DOT physical; ability to pass required checks.

Responsibilities

  • Operates an 80,000 pound tractor and semi-trailer to production and distribution sites.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Positions trailers at docks for loading and unloading.
  • Maintains a driver’s log book daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

OTR Driver Role Overview

To safely and efficiently drive a tractor-trail between production and distribution facilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Operates an 80,000 pound tractor and semi-trailer carrying product to pre-determined destinations.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle will operate safely.
  • Positions trailers at docks for loading and unloading product.
  • Keeps and maintains a driver’s log book each day.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • DOT CDL class A License required or must be able to obtain DOT Class A license.
  • Two Years tractor – trailer experience required.
  • Experience positioning trailer at docks for loading and unloading.
  • Able to pass a PBV driving skills test.
  • Ability to work shift in excess of 8 hours
  • Ability to successfully pass DOT physical under guidelines set forth in Federal Motor Carriers Handbook.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment. (Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.)
  • Average oral and written communication skills.
