Job summary

Altom Transport, a family-owned company, seeks an Owner Operator Driver who will act as a business owner in our operation. You will haul chemical and petroleum products in tank trailers, maintaining DOT compliance and delivering reliable service.

You’ll manage fuel, trips, and scheduling to maximize revenue while representing Altom Transport professionally at customer sites. This is a 24/7 operation with long-term partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license required.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available).
• Tanker endorsement required or preferred.
• TWIC card preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience.
• Clean MVR and strong safety record.
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation of chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while adhering to DOT regulations.
• Equipment Maintenance: ensure truck meets inspection standards and remains in top condition for long haul success.
• Loading & Unloading at loading and delivery points for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations.
• Compliance & Documentation: maintain logs, submit paperwork, and adhere to hazmat regulations.
• Customer Service: represent Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
• Business Management: manage fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
• Maintain steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements.
• Be available 24/7 as needed.

• Tanker Endorsement (N) – Required
• Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
• TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire)
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience
• At least 23 years of age
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
• Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed
