Job summary

NEW LIFE TRANSPORT PARTS CENTER is seeking an OTR Driver to safely transport customer orders across routes with daily mileage targets. The role emphasizes timeliness, customer service, and acting as the company’s front-facing representative.

The driver will often be away multiple nights, travel up to 550 miles per day, and may be away for a week or more depending on assignments. CDL Class A and DOT medical card are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• CDL Class A license and valid DOT medical card.
• Must be proficient in English and communicate clearly.
• No major violations in past 5 years; no at-fault accidents last 3 years.
• Hazmat training preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work independently for long periods.

Job Overview

The OTR Driver is responsible for transporting customer orders safely, securely and timely from one location to the next. This role plays a key part in ensuring an excellent customer service experience. A successful OTR Driver is especially mindful of traffic and road safety, timeliness of deliveries and serving as a front-facing representative of our company to our customers. A OTR Driver should expect to travel 550 miles a day and at minimum be gone 2 nights and could be gone up to an entire week. Up to $0.72/mile, $15/stop ($0.05/mile Safety & Ops Bonus)

Core Functions

• Customer Order Transport
  • Ensure correct orders are picked up and delivered and on a timely basis.
  • Provide and receive accurate paperwork for the orders when transporting orders.
  • Interact with customers, obtain signatures for deliveries and address any questions or concerns.
  • Ensure product is safely secured throughout transport.
  • Communicate with dispatch and management to report delays, traffic issues or other relevant information.
  • Adjust routes as needed due to traffic, accidents or construction.
• Safety and Compliance
  • Operate a new lease 2019 + International LT625 truck.
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs to management.
  • Execute compliance related tasks to ensure all transportation and fleet operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards.
  • Report information on transportation-related accidents or incidents to management.

Competencies and Qualifications

• Must have minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to operate a CMV for intrastate commerce.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a CMV for interstate commerce.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Must have a current motor vehicle record with no more than 3 traffic violations within 3 years.
• No serious or major violations (i.e., reckless driving, impaired driving, etc.) within 5 years.
• No at-fault accidents within the last 3 years.
• Valid CDL Class A driver’s license.
• Valid DOT medical card.
• Hazmat training preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of traveling in a vehicle and driving on the road.
