Essen Health Care is seeking Physician Assistants for all divisions in the Bronx, Queens, and Long Island. The PA will support physicians, conduct patient exams, and assist in surgeries and procedures under physician supervision.

Candidates must hold an active New York PA license, NY DEA registration, and NCCPA certification. Prior surgical or acute care experience is preferred. We offer competitive salary and strong benefits across our community health network.

Qualifications

• Active New York license as a Physician Assistant.
• Current NY Controlled Substance License/Registration (DEA).
• Graduate of an approved PA program with post-graduate training in surgery or equivalent experience.
• Certification by NCCPA is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services under supervision of a physician.
• Examine patients and record their medical histories.
• Conduct physicals and treat minor injuries (suturing, splints).
• Order diagnostic tests, interpret results and diagnose conditions.
• Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
• Monitor responses to treatments and counsel patients.
• Collaborate with team members across specialties and attend to emergencies.

Essen Healthcare is currently seeking Physician Assistant's for all Divisions/Specialties. The openings are located in the Bronx, Queens and Long Island areas.

The Physician Assistant will support the doctors work and actively facilitate patients recovery. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the direction of a physician and you will deal with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement.

The selected candidate will be responsible to perform daily Physician Assistant duties including but not limited to:

• Provide healthcare services under supervision of a physician.
• Examine patients and record their medical histories.
• Conduct physicals and treat minor injuries (sutures, splints, etc)
• Order diagnostic tests, interpret results and diagnose medical conditions.
• Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
• Monitor responses to treatments and counsel patients
• Assess patients health and their demands and aim to fulfill them as well as possible
• Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine
• Inform physicians about any problems or discrepancies that might arise
• Acquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditions
• Monitor patients progress and keep records of treatments, surgeries or other medical events
• Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine procedures (measure blood pressure and temperature, administer injections etc)
• Provide therapeutic treatments (disinfecting wounds, stitching etc.)
• Collaborate effectively with team members of various specializations
• Attend to emergencies

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications

• Active New York license as a Physician Assistant
• Currently New York Controlled Substance and Drug Enforcement Registration
• Graduate of an approved PA Program and a post-graduate training program in surgery or at least one-year equivalent work experience
• Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Emergency Medicine / Family Practice/Acute Care
• DOT, BLS, ACLS Preferred
