Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to students eligible under IEP/ISP in diverse special and alternative education settings.

You will assess, intervene, and monitor student progress, collaborating with teachers and families to integrate therapy into classroom activities and support educational goals. The role requires NBCOT and state certification, strong communication, and the ability to work independently to promote student

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in occupational therapy, NBCOT Certification and/or valid State Certification as specified in the contract.
• Ability to work independently. Motivated and well-organized.
• Good communication skills with adults and students

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy interventions for students to improve fine motor coordination and functional skills per IEP/ISP.
• Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Test and evaluate students to determine ongoing need for occupational therapy when requested.
• Consult with classroom teachers to ensure OT plans are integrated into curriculum and classroom activities.
• Communicate with parents regularly about progress and home activity recommendations.
• Create solutions to challenges based on research and professional judgment.
• Make referrals to community resources as needed.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
• Other duties may be assigned.
