Job summary

1898 & Co. in Kansas City seeks a Project Manager to lead complex OT‑focused integration projects, coordinating control systems, industrial networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise connectivity.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time, within budget, and with safety and quality in mind. The role requires strong leadership, deep OT knowledge, and the ability to manage client expectations while guiding modernization and digital transformation across large programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree from accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of experience providing Project or Program Management with at least 2 years focused on operational technology projects or programs.
• Previous large project or program leadership experience is preferable.
• Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
• Experience with electric utility clients implementing and integrating operational systems such as OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, DERMS, IEC-61850, SCADA, Telecom FAN is preferred.
• Professional certifications related to Program or Project management such as PMP or Agile SAFe are a plus.
• Experience with a variety of project execution methodologies including but not limited to Waterfall and Agile.
• Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
• Must possess strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, project management experience, and a strategic perspective.
• Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Travel 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead program estimation, planning, and budgeting activities, maintaining accountability for project execution and delivery.
• Adopt, implement, and adjust leading project delivery methodologies, including both Waterfall and Agile approaches.
• Manage full project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with client goals and adherence to schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Track and report overall project status, milestones, deliverables, and financial performance metrics.
• Create and deliver detailed project status reports and lead regular stakeholder meetings covering schedule, risks, issues, budget, and resource allocation.
• Supervise and coordinate all project resources, including internal 1898 & Co. teams, client personnel, and third‑party vendors.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and contractual obligations.
• Support and oversee project deliverables assigned to both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of all deliverables to verify compliance with standards and best practices.
