Job summary

Hawaiian Electric seeks an OT System Architect to lead the design and implementation of the EMS, SCADA, OMS, and related IT platforms for real-time grid operations. The role defines architecture, integration, and resilience strategies to ensure reliable energy delivery and optimized lifecycle costs.

As a senior technical leader, you will guide cross-functional teams, collaborate on cybersecurity and modernization initiatives, and develop long-term plans (3–5+ years) for OT infrastructure aligned

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of real-time operational systems, data and OT management.
Protocols and middleware enabling interoperability between disparate systems.
Integration of hardware and software across OT and IT.
Understanding OT vs IT differences in operations and security.
Programming and scripting for automation and system logic.
Documentation, change control, and compliance tracking experience.
Ability to create system diagrams and data flow maps.

Responsibilities

Define architecture for EMS/SCADA/OMS and supporting IT platforms.
Maintain interfaces and integration requirements across OT and IT systems.
Develop procedures for loss of real-time monitoring and control of EMS with stakeholders.
