Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking an Infrastructure Administrator to join the IT team at the Palatka Pulp and Paper Mill in Palatka, FL. Support and improve OT and IT infrastructure to strengthen reliability across manufacturing technology systems.

The role requires self-direction, strong communication with internal customers, and a drive to standardize and improve technology services. On-site work with a 24x7 on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical support or a related technology support role
  • Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems and local area networks
  • Experience translating business needs into technology support requirements and prioritising work based on value, risk, and urgency
  • Experience working independently, setting goals, achieving milestones with minimal direction, and taking ownership through completion
  • Experience working within standardised processes while identifying ways to improve service quality, reliability, and efficiency
  • Willing and able to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical issues
  • Must have legal authorisation to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

  • Support business and process control networks, including wired and wireless infrastructure, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and domain controllers
  • Provide technology support for desktops, laptops, hardware, software, mobile devices, and help desk requests
  • Support operational technology, automation systems, PLC/DCS connectivity, and quality control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Apply cybersecurity practices that help protect mill technology assets across IT and OT environments
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical technology issues

Job description

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Infrastructure Administrator to join the IT team at the Palatka Pulp and Paper Mill in Palatka, Florida. In this role, you will support and continuously improve the site's Operational Technology (OT) and IT infrastructure, helping strengthen operational reliability and value creation across manufacturing technology systems.

This role is ideal for a self-directed technology professional who takes ownership of issues, uses sound judgment, communicates clearly with internal customers, and looks for ways to standardise work, reduce recurring issues, and improve how technology services are delivered.

The Palatka Mill IT team supports a broad manufacturing technology environment that includes process control systems, servers, virtual environments, business and industrial networks, wireless infrastructure, desktop computing, storage, and backup solutions. The team partners closely with mill operations and technology stakeholders to keep critical systems reliable, secure, and aligned to business needs.

What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience in technical support or a related technology support role
  • Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems and local area networks

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with Cisco wired and wireless networking, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and domain controller support
  • Experience with virtual environments such as VMware or Hyper‑V, SANs, storage, backups, and recovery practices
  • Experience in cybersecurity practices for PCs, LAN, wireless, and manufacturing or operational technology environments
  • Experience supporting PLC/DCS connectivity, automation systems, Honeywell, Foxboro, Modicon/Schneider Electric controls, or quality control systems
  • Experience with mobile technology and Internet of Things (IoT) technology in an industrial or business environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering technology, or a closely related field
