Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a skilled ophthalmic technician to administer orthoptic and/or preoptic diagnostic tests for patients with ocular motility disorders. The role supports non-surgical treatment to develop binocular vision and may include duties of an ophthalmic technician.

Responsibilities include testing visual acuity, ocular motility, and binocular function; preparing reports and consulting with ophthalmologists on patient progress; guiding patients through in-office and home

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• Experience in ophthalmic testing or eye care preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer diagnostic tests for ocular motility disorders (visual acuity, ocular motility, binocular function).
• Prepare reports and confer with ophthalmologist on patient progress; instruct patients in therapy.
• Interact with patients professionally, following AIDET principles; support team and maintain a safe, clean environment.
