Job summary

Vanderbilt Health, VEI Campus Peds in Nashville, TN, seeks an ophthalmic technician to administer orthoptic/preoptic tests for ocular motility disorders and assist in binocular vision rehabilitation.

You will measure visual acuity, ocular motility, and binocular function, prepare reports, and collaborate with ophthalmologists to monitor patient progress. Less than 1 year of experience and a Bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Experience or familiarity with ophthalmic testing and patient care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of eye muscle disorders and amblyopia; administer diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, ocular motility, and binocular function.
• Prepare reports and consult with ophthalmologist about patient progress; guide office therapy and home exercises.
• Interact with patients professionally using AIDET principles and support a team environment.
• Lead in maintaining a clean, stocked clinic and ensure adherence to EOC guidelines.
