Job summary

Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an RN for Orthopedics for a 12-hour night shift. The Staff RN will provide patient care under the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, following Mount Carmel policies and procedures.

The role requires a nursing degree, Ohio RN license, and current BLS/CPR. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and family education, with EMR charting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice; assist with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; perform basic procedures under supervision.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider according to standards and policies.
• Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and diagnoses.
• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes.
• Ambyst responsibilities and accountability for care provided by other team members as appropriate.
