Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an experienced Chair of Orthopedics to provide strategic leadership for the service line across its extensive network.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, research, and teaching within an academically affiliated environment. The Chair will mentor surgeons and staff, guide clinical practice, and drive growth while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified in subspecialty with an MD or DO and able to demonstrate clinical, administrative and educational leadership.
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience with at least 5 years in a well-developed leadership role
• Interest in maintaining an active clinical practice, engaging in clinical research and trials, and teaching at our #1 nationally ranked teaching hospital
• Proven track record demonstrating professional excellence in leadership, research, patient care, administration and education
• Ability to lead others in a dynamic and growth-oriented organization that strives for excellence in all areas of operation
• Outstanding communication, relationship building, and mentorship skills

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision, leadership and accountability for all aspects of the Orthopedics Service Line.
• Lead and mentor a large team of surgeons and advanced practice providers across multiple locations.
• Engage in clinical research, trials, and ongoing education within the department.
• Collaborate with academic partners including Temple University School of Medicine for faculty appointment.
• Develop and execute growth initiatives to strengthen service-line performance and patient care quality.
