Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team in Augusta, GA. The surgeon will provide expert care for complex trauma, collaborating with trauma, emergency, and rehabilitation services to optimize outcomes from acute injury through recovery.

Ideal candidates hold an MD or DO, board certification in Orthopedic Surgery, Georgia licensure or eligibility, with fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery preferred.
• Active Georgia medical license or eligibility.
• Experience managing complex orthopedic trauma cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical management of acute orthopedic trauma injuries.
• Evaluate and stabilize trauma patients with trauma and emergency teams.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans including surgical intervention and postoperative care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary trauma rounds and trauma program development.
• Provide consultative services for orthopedic injuries across inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in trauma quality improvement, morbidity/mortality reviews, and clinical research.
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
