Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP/NP) to join our hospital-based orthopedic trauma team. This role delivers post-operative care, general medicine management, and functions as a surgical assistant to the orthopedic surgeon.

The role requires 2 years Level II trauma and ortho experience, on-call weekends, a Master's degree, Colorado PA/NP license, and BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 2 years Level II Trauma AND Ortho experience REQUIRED. NO NEW GRADS.
• On/Call weekend required
• Master's degree and certification from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Current Colorado Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
• Current Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
• Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• ATLS Certification required
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding the delivery and billing of healthcare services

Responsibilities

• Transmits/prescribes prescription orders pursuant to written protocols as authorized.
• Performs initial and on-going assessments and discharge planning
• Coordinates care by collaborating with surgeons and others to obtain appropriate services
• Provides an accurate, thorough and timely report of patients' condition to surgeons and multidisciplinary team members.
• Works with interdisciplinary teams to reduce unnecessary readmissions to the hospital.
• Ensures efficient patient throughput through timely care coordination, reassessment, and discharge planning.

Education

Master's degree and certification from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

Current Colorado Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
