Job summary

SCA Health in Arcadia, CA is hiring an Orthopedic Technician to support the operating room and clinic teams. You will apply and remove dressings, assist with procedures, monitor DME, and help maintain sterile environments under state guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Certified Orthopedic Technology training program preferred.
  • Allied Health/Surgical Assist program preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, assisting in operating room as permitted by state guidelines, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints, monitoring and distributing DME.
  • Assist staff in other duties including escorting patients, taking vital signs andassisting with minor procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintain work area, ORs, supplies.
  • Perform associated clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Adhere to employer work practices.
  • Work as a team member within the Operating Room and all other departments.
  • Effectively cope with typical job stress.
  • Document work processes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certification/Licensure: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in a clinic and/or hospital/surgery center setting.

USD $30.00/Hr. USD $58.00/Hr.
