Job description

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts, 7:30am - 4:00pm with rotating on call shifts including weekend coverage.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary

The Orthopedic Technician performs specialized orthopedic duties such as cast application and removal, applies and removes traction, etc., and does so according to age and/or developmental needs of the patients. Assists with fracture care and orthopedic procedures; educating patients on injury care and equipment use; and preparing patients for examinations. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience

2+ years related experience. Previous work experience in a pediatric or general hospital desirable.

Education/Licensure/Certifications

Completion of training program for orthopedic technicians (Registered Orthopedic Technologist required). Certified Orthopedic Technologist preferred. American Heart Association BLS certification required.
