Job summary

Reno Orthopedic Center is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support orthopedic procedures by preparing case carts, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment. You will assist in instrument counts, gowning, and draping, while helping with room turnover and equipment maintenance.

The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, orthopedic instrumentation, and anatomy; experience in an OR setting is preferred. ROC offers comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Must have strong sterile technique and workflow in the OR.
• Proficient with surgical instrumentation and sterile processing.
• Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare case carts and communicate missing items to ensure readiness.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and maintain sterile field.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor breaches of sterility.
• Handle and care for instruments, trays, and case carts for procedures.
• Assist with room turnover and OR prep for next patient.
• Perform instrument counts with the circulator and support gowning/drapping.
• Support decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of supplies as needed.
• Monitor and charge supplies used during procedures and assist inventory control.
• Assist in transferring patients between bed and stretcher as required.
