Job summary

Intermountain Health's Platte Valley Hospital seeks a fellowship-trained Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeon to join the Musculoskeletal team in Brighton, Colorado. You will split time between Platte Valley Hospital and the Brighton Clinic, performing joint arthroplasty and related procedures.

The role includes 2 surgery days and 3 in-office clinic days weekly, with Level III general orthopedic call. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Fellowship in total joint arthroplasty required.
  • Board certification in orthopedics (ABMS/AOA).
  • Active medical licensure in the practicing state required.
  • ACGME/AOA accredited training program.
  • Robotic surgery experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Fellowship-trained total joint arthroplasty surgeon.
  • Take general orthopedic call and occasional sports medicine procedures.
  • Collaborate with musculoskeletal team to deliver quality patient care.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and clinic days as scheduled.

About this role

As a Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeon, part of the Musculoskeletal team at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. Platte Valley Hospital is currently a Level III facility, with a dedicated team of 12 providers: 5 APPs, 4 MDs and 3 DPMs. Fellow physicians specialize in total joints, sports medicine, and hand surgery.

We are currently seeking a fellowship trained Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team. In this role you can expect to work at Platte Valley and the Brighton Clinic.

Additional practice information
  • This position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable)
  • You can anticipate 2 days per week in surgery and dedicated in-office clinic days 3 days per week
  • Level III general orthopedic call, roughly Q5; compensation offered for call requirement
  • You can anticipate occasional ER calls, inpatient consults and rounding with APPs

The ideal candidate

An ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in total joint arthroplasty with a desire to take general orthopedic call and perform occasional sports medicine procedures as needed. Robotic experience with the Stryker Mako Robot and upper extremity experience are a plus but not required.

What you’ll bring
  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree; or equivalent if education is completed outside the United States
  • Completion of graduate fellowship medical education training program in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Graduate education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accredited institution
  • ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in the specialty(s) or subspecialty(s) of practice
  • Fellowship training in adult reconstruction / total joint arthroplasty
  • Active Medical Licensure, or in process of obtaining licensure, is required in the state in which physician will practice
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • DEA Registration schedules II-V
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
