Job description

Northern New Jersey

Build Something Special. Not Just Another Practice.

A well-established, yet rapidly growing surgical group that has been in business for 25+ years, is seeking a fellowship-trained Adult Reconstruction Surgeon to help build one of the premier Total Joint replacement programs in the Northeast.

This is a rare opportunity for a Surgeon who wants more than a traditional hospital-employed role. The organization has already built the infrastructure, ambulatory surgery centers, patient acquisition engine, employer partnerships, and operational support needed to create a high-volume total joint program. What they need now is the right Surgeon to help lead the next phase of growth.

If you are excited by innovation, outpatient arthroplasty, clinical excellence, and the opportunity to help shape a growing orthopedic platform, this could be the career-defining opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

Most orthopedic surgeons spend years trying to build referral relationships, secure OR time, navigate hospital politics, and grow volume. Here, much of that work is already done.

You’ll Have Access To
  • Dedicated ambulatory surgery center resources
  • Built-in patient acquisition and marketing support
  • Direct-to-employer joint replacement programs with strong projected volumes
  • Established payer contracts
  • Strong referral channels across multiple specialties
  • Full administrative and operational support
  • Leadership opportunities as the program grows

This allows you to focus on what you do best: delivering exceptional patient outcomes and growing a successful arthroplasty practice.

The Opportunity

As the primary Total Joint Surgeon for your market, you will:

  • Perform primary and revision hip and knee replacements
  • Expand outpatient total joint replacement programs
  • Participate in rapid recovery and ASC-based care pathways
  • Collaborate with PM&R, pain management, and orthopedic colleagues
  • Help develop clinical pathways and quality initiatives
  • Support outcomes reporting and employer-sponsored programs
  • Participate in research, outcomes tracking, and program development

This is a true ground-floor opportunity with the backing of an established healthcare platform.

Requirements Include
  • Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction / Total Joint Replacement
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
  • High-volume experience in hip and knee arthroplasty
  • Comfort practicing in an ASC environment
  • Ability to perform both with and without robotic assistance
  • Commitment to quality outcomes and patient experience
  • Interest in helping grow a service line

Candidates with leadership experience, research backgrounds, bundled-payment expertise, or prior program-building experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Total compensation can exceed $1M (competitive guaranteed base compensation that is negotiable + bonus)
  • Participation in both professional and ASC-related revenue streams
  • Signing and relocation assistance
  • Milestone-based bonus opportunities
  • Comprehensive family medical benefits
  • Occurrence-based malpractice coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Five weeks PTO
  • Annual CME and professional development allowance
Who Will Thrive Here?

The surgeons who are most successful in this environment are entrepreneurial. They are excited about outpatient total joints, value autonomy, embrace innovation, and want to help build a market-leading orthopedic platform rather than simply inherit an existing practice. If you’re looking for a long‑term opportunity with substantial income potential, leadership opportunities, and the ability to shape the future of orthopedic care, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
