Job description

Wave Plastic Surgery, one of our valued partners, is looking for a part-time Orthopedic Surgeon to join their fast-growing, state-of-the-art clinic located in Los Angeles, California.

Wave Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Laser Center is a premier, physician-led cosmetic, aesthetic, and wellness practice with multiple locations across California. As the practice expands its non-surgical pain management offering, it is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to lead patient consultations and injection-based care within its pain clinic. The pain clinic currently treats an almost entirely personal-injury patient population, making experience working with personal-injury cases and related musculoskeletal conditions highly valuable.

The Orthopedic Surgeon is a highly skilled physician specializing in the non-surgical evaluation and management of musculoskeletal, joint, and chronic pain conditions. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients while performing a range of therapeutic and image-guided injection procedures. The Orthopedic Surgeon ensures patient safety, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes while fostering trust and confidence in the care provided.

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position requiring 1–2 days per week. The role is onsite with flexible working hours. We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring business needs are met.

Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive, good-faith patient consultations and physical examinations, including review of medical history, imaging, and prior treatments, to evaluate musculoskeletal, joint, and chronic pain complaints and determine appropriate non-surgical management;

  • Develop, oversee, and adjust individualized non-surgical treatment plans for orthopedic and pain conditions, coordinating care with the clinical team as needed;
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic injection procedures, including but not limited to intra-articular (joint) injections, corticosteroid injections, trigger point injections, tendon and bursa injections, viscosupplementation, and regenerative injections (e.g., PRP), as clinically indicated and within scope of practice;
  • Utilize image guidance (ultrasound or fluoroscopy) where appropriate and interpret diagnostic imaging (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound) to inform diagnosis, guide injections, and monitor treatment response;
  • Provide second opinions and pre- and post-operative consultations, and refer patients for surgical intervention or to other specialists when clinically appropriate;
  • Accurately and promptly document all patient encounters, assessments, procedures, interventions, and outcomes in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR);
  • Provide comprehensive follow-up care, including management of acute complaints and ongoing pain conditions;
  • Promote patient retention through consistent, detailed, and timely follow-up communications and care;
  • Provide patient education, instructions, and counseling related to non-surgical pain management options, procedures, expected outcomes, and aftercare;
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the image and standards of the practice;
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities as required;
  • Represent the practice with integrity and discretion in all patient and community interactions;
  • Assist other providers with their patients and the practice’s needs as directed;
  • Assist and support CPP’s and the practice’s support team as directed;
  • Demonstrate brand loyalty and promotion of the business as an individual and as a team member;
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant clinical environment in accordance with applicable practice policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements;
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and protocols to protect patients, staff, and the work environment;
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and professional regulations, including ongoing monitoring of new or revised legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the position;
  • Maintain professional competency by participating in continuing education programs, reviewing relevant literature, and collaborating with colleagues to stay informed of developments in orthopedic and non-surgical pain medicine; and
  • Remain current with the latest evidence-based practices and emerging literature in non-surgical orthopedic and pain management to ensure delivery of safe and up-to-date patient care
Qualifications :
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery; fellowship training in sports medicine, interventional pain, or musculoskeletal medicine is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience performing musculoskeletal and joint injections; ultrasound- or image-guided injection experience preferred.
  • Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain, where required for the administration or prescription of applicable medications.
  • Experience in non-surgical pain management, interventional orthopedics, or regenerative medicine is preferred.
  • Professional, warm, confident, and compassionate bedside manner.
