Orthopedic RN Job Details

• Position Title: Locum Tenens Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN)
• Job Type: Travel contract / Locum tenens
• Specialties: Orthopedic, Post-Operative, Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Location: Gallatin, Tennessee (37066) – Nashville area healthcare jobs
• Facility: Accredited Level III Trauma Center, 23-bed unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend, as needed
• Float Requirement: Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Dress Code: Any scrub color (T-shirts must have hospital logo; no acrylic nails)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN license (Registered Nurse)
• ASN degree or higher in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in orthopedic, post-op, or med/surg settings
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (must be current prior to start)
• Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to float to other nursing units as needed
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check before assignment

Orthopedic RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic, post-operative, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients (ages 13+ including geriatric, adult, and pediatric)
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and progress in compliance with hospital standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the care process
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Float to other units as required to support overall patient care
