Job summary

Carrell Clinic in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support orthopedic physicians in delivering musculoskeletal care. The PA will conduct clinical evaluations, assist in surgery, and coordinate treatment plans in line with Texas state laws and supervision requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted Texas Physician Assistant license.
• NCCPA certification.
• DEA and DPS registration for prescriptive authority, if applicable.
• BLS and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and orthopedic assessments.
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, EMG/NCV, bone scans, and lab studies.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and develop treatment plans under physician supervision according to Texas rules.
• Independently manage follow-up visits, post-operative checks, and acute/chronic conditions within scope.
• Perform in-office procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, splinting, casting, wound care, and suture removal.
• Assist the supervising orthopedic surgeon in the operating room and in pre/post-operative care.
• Maintain compliant medical records and complete billing/coding per payer guidelines.
