Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM, is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Orthopedic Clinic. This full-time role supports a patient-centered, clinical and administrative workflow.

The candidate will greet patients, manage scheduling, and assist with exams and injections, using an EHR system. Prior experience as a receptionist and MA certification are preferred; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of receptionist experience is required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and families and checks them in/out in the EHR.
• Answering calls and relaying messages to the appropriate party.
• Schedule appointments, reminders, referrals, and manage admissions as needed.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and exam prep.
• Take vitals, perform EKGs, stress tests, and rhythm strips.
• Prepare charts with labs and imaging results before visits.
• Administer medications as directed (injections) and process refills.
• Ensure correct physician orders and coordinate with the provider.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
