Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo seeks an Orthopedic Imaging Technologist for a full-time days position (40 hours/week) in the Medical Office Building. You will perform radiographic exams to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment, with competency in patient care and safety.

Requirements include completion of an accredited radiology program or associates degree, ARRT registration or eligibility, and BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a hospital-based radiology program certificate or an A.A. in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registration is required or applicant must gain registration within 6 months of hire.
• BLS training must be completed within 6 months of hire date.
• Ability to operate basic computer programs used for record keeping in the department.
• Excellent human relation skills to interact with patients, providers and colleagues.
• Customer service orientation is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership and organization skills; ability to work independently.
• Positive attitude and reliable work ethic.
• Position involves standing/walking, lifting light loads and assisting with patient handling.
• Ability to work in a rotating schedule across radiology areas.
• Maintains sterile technique and punctual documentation.
• Training or supervision of student technologists as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosis.
• Receives/escorts patients and reviews pertinent information.
• Positions patients and selects immobilization/shielding as needed.
• Operates diagnostic radiographic equipment and consults radiologists as needed.
• Administers contrast media with provider guidance and handles emergencies.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and sterile technique; documents patient data.
