Job summary

SPOSC in Southern Pines, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op and PACU roles in a state‑of‑the‑art orthopedic ambulatory surgery center. You will provide safe patient preparation, recovery, education, and discharge planning to support efficient intraoperative flow.

The ideal candidate holds a NC RN license, current BLS and ACLS (PALS preferred for pediatric cases), and at least 2 years of Pre‑Op/PACU experience, with orthopedic ASC exposure strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred if pediatric cases are performed.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative assessment and coordination of PAT.
• Provide IV access and administer medications per orders.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Monitor and manage patient during PACU recovery and discharge criteria.
• Document care in electronic health record and ensure safety/compliance.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure readiness for surgery.
