Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent Orthopaedic Trauma is seeking a Physician Assistant for a dedicated night-shift role in a Level I trauma center. You will evaluate and treat inpatient orthopaedic trauma patients, work with fellowship-trained surgeons, and provide high-autonomy care with structured education.

New grads are encouraged; Georgia licensure and NCCPA are required. Inpatient procedures, strong team collaboration, and 6 PM–8 AM shifts are offered with comprehensive training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification required.
• Eligible for or currently holding a Georgia Physician Assistant license.
• DEA certification or eligibility, if applicable.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Previous orthopaedic, surgical, emergency medicine, trauma, or inpatient experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and manage orthopaedic trauma patients in the inpatient setting.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Respond to orthopaedic trauma consults and patient care needs during overnight hours.
• Assist in the management of fractures, musculoskeletal injuries, and post-operative patients.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedural notes in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental educational activities.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
