Job summary

SpineSearch in NYC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join an outpatient orthopedic spine team. You will provide clinical care and surgical coordination, patient education, and care management, using Epic EMR across multiple clinical sites as needed.

Ideal candidates have a BSN or equivalent, 4+ years of nursing experience, NY license, and strong assessment, communication, and organization skills; master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent education and experience.
• 4+ years of nursing experience.
• Current, unrestricted New York State RN license.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Physician practice/outpatient experience preferred.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new patient consultations, medical records, imaging, and appointments.
• Triage patient calls and address clinical concerns throughout the day.
• Coordinate surgeries, including scheduling, rescheduling, and prioritizing urgent cases.
• Provide pre- and post-operative education and support.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing and review results with providers.
• Prepare patients, charts, and imaging for surgery.
• Assist with examinations and wound care, sutures, and dressings.
• Round with providers on orthopedic inpatients as needed.
• Coordinate care between physicians, nurses, therapists, hospitals, and other healthcare teams.
• Assist with transitions of care, including admissions, discharges, home care, and visiting nurse referrals.
• Document patient care and communication in Epic.
• Assist with patient forms, disability/workers’ compensation documentation, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Support clinical research, patient education, and quality initiatives.
