Specialty Dental Brands is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support the orthodontist and clinical team in delivering efficient, safe patient care. You will assist with braces placement, impressions, wire adjustments, and appliance care, while keeping the treatment area clean and organized.

You will help explain procedures, ensure patient comfort, maintain accurate records in the EHR/PMS, and support infection control and inventory management in a fast-paced dental practice in Rhode Island.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant or dental assistant, preferably with an orthodontic focus.
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and terminology.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the orthodontic team.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Mansioni

• Assist the orthodontist during treatments, including placing and removing braces, taking impressions, adjusting wires, and applying/removing elastics and other orthodontic appliances.
• Ensure patient comfort and respond to patient needs throughout procedures.
• Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, explaining procedures and addressing questions.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical areas and treatment rooms.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments, equipment, and materials per infection control protocols.
• Take diagnostic X-rays, panoramic images, or digital scans as required for planning.
• Update patient records in the EHR/PMS with treatment progress and X-ray results.
• Assist with fitting and adjusting retainers, expanders, and braces.
• Provide post-treatment instructions including retainer care and follow-up visits.
