Job summary

Orthodontic Experts Ltd in Indianapolis seeks an Orthodontic Assistant to support the orthodontist in chairside procedures, prepare patients, sterilize instruments, and capture digital radiographs. You will assist in aligner and bonding tasks and travel to sister clinics as needed.

The role requires 1 year of orthodontic assisting, Saturday availability, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication and organizational skills. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, including cleanings, X-Rays, and impressions.
  • Examine mouths and note irregularities.
  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures (adjust braces, place appliances).
  • Manage patient records and update charts.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care.
  • Sterilize instruments before and after use.
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols.
  • Perform aligner procedures: attachments, adjustments, scans.
  • Bonding and debonding brackets (full arch).
  • Use digital scanners for records and planning.
  • Make clear retainers.
  • Deliver expanders and space maintainers.
  • Travel to other clinics and perform administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in marketing events.

Job Description

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will be an integral part of creating beautiful smiles for our patients. You will be part of a dynamic team of orthodontic professionals who are passionate about providing excellent care. You will be responsible for providing support to our Orthodontist and assisting in the chairside procedures. Your duties will include preparing patients for their treatment, sterilizing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and assisting with laboratory procedures.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, such as cleaning teeth, taking X-Rays, and making impressions.
  • Examine patient's mouths and take notes of irregularities.
  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures, such as adjusting braces and placing orthodontic appliances.
  • Manage patient records and update charts.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and orthodontic care.
  • Sterilize instruments before and after use.
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols.
  • Complete Aligner procedures: attachments and adjustments, and scans
  • Complete Full Arch Bonding top and bottom, as well as bonding fixed retainers
  • Debonding
  • Rebonding Brackets
  • Using various digital scanners
  • Making clear retainers
  • Delivering expanders, space maintainers and forsus.
  • In the event you are traveling to another clinic, you are required to perform all duties and responsibilities of your role including administrative tasks.
  • Participate in Marketing events
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Orthodontic assisting (1 year required)
  • Availability on Saturdays
  • High School Diploma of GED
  • Certificate of completion for Orthodontic Assistant Courses (preferred)
  • Ability to learn quickly and efficiently

Working Hours/ Location
  • Monday – Wednesday: 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday – Friday: 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Every other Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturdays: Currently no Saturdays shifts however will be in the future
  • 5640 Emerson Way , Indianapolis, IN 46220
  • Travel availability to Speedway and Greenwood
  • Rate of pay - 20$ - 25$
