Job summary

Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners in Montgomery, AL is seeking an experienced Orthodontic Assistant for a full-time role (35-40 hours/week). You will assist the orthodontist, prep patients and rooms, and help maintain smooth patient flow.

This role requires prior orthodontic assisting experience, busy-clinic dental background, knowledge of procedures and infection control, strong communication, and Alabama certifications as applicable. Team-friendly practice for families.

Qualifications

• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is required.
• Dental assisting experience in a busy clinical environment.
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology, instruments, and infection-control protocols.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Comfortable working with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient appointments and procedures.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist with bonding, debonding, wire changes, adjustments, and other orthodontic procedures.
• Provide patients and parents with instructions on appliances, retainers, elastics, and at-home care.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized treatment areas.
• Accurately document treatment and patient information.
• Help maintain an efficient patient flow throughout the day.
• Provide a friendly, positive experience for our patients and families.
• Support the clinical and Admin team wherever needed.
