Job summary

OrthoColorado Hospital in Colorado is seeking a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech to support the OR team in orthopedic and sports medicine cases. You will work under surgeons and RNs, preparing sterile instruments, assisting with patient movement, and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.

Ideal candidates have an approved Surgical Technician program, current Colorado DORA registration, BLS certification, and at least one year of OR experience; orthopedic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Current registration with Colorado DORA as a surgical technologist.
• Certification NBSTSA CST or NCCT required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• One year OR experience preferred.
• Experience in orthopedic/sports medicine a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
• Assist during operative procedures by arranging sterile set-up of instruments and supplies and passing items to surgeons and nurses.
• Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
• Scrub on orthopedic, total joint replacements and sports medicine cases.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with room turnover.
