Job summary

Prisma Health in Richland, SC, seeks a Physician Assistant to work under a physician, delivering quality treatment, referrals, and follow-up care in an orthopedic spine clinic. You will perform histories, exams, and education, order tests with physician oversight, interpret results, and implement treatment plans.

Emergency care and policy-driven clinic support are also part of the role. Requires NCCPA certification, SC PA licensure, BLS, and a bachelor’s degree in a PA program.

Responsibilities

• Performs health histories, physical exams, individual and group health education.
• Orders diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests with physician approval.
• Interprets physical findings, lab and x-ray results, makes diagnoses, and formulates and carries out treatment plans, prescribing medication in accordance with state licensing laws.
• Refers cases to supervising physician when patient conditions require higher care.
• Provides emergency care to prevent loss of life, limb or eyesight; initiates emergency procedures.
• Supports clinic function by participating in policy development and operational improvements.
