Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks an experienced nurse for the Ortho/Neuro/Stroke Unit in a PRN capacity. You will provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.

Requirements include a South Carolina or Compact RN license and AHA BLS certification. The role involves on-site, 8-hour shifts with emphasis on safety, professional practice, and continuous improvement within MUSC’s governance framework.

Qualifications

• Current South Carolina or Compact RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Experience in orthopedics, neurology, or stroke units preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
• Provide patient/family centered care covering physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment with patient privacy and professional behavior.
• Participate in professional practice model, shared governance, and promotion of clinical excellence.
• Coordinate care using care management principles to improve patient outcomes.
