Job summary

North American Dental Group (NADG) is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our Saint Petersburg, FL practice. You will support the orthodontist with chair-side care, patient preparation, and materials handling, while ensuring asepsis and accurate charting.

The role emphasizes patient education and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 0-2 years of experience, CPR certification, and the required state licensure and dental radiographer license.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in dental assisting or orthodontic setting.
• CPR certification required and active license to practice dentistry.
• State licensure and dental radiographer license as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support to doctors and prepare materials for procedures.
• Prepare patient for treatment and assist orthodontist with equipment and materials.
• Record and review patient health history; chart entries in dental software as directed.
• Change and remove wires/brackets, take impressions and scans, prepare teeth for bonding.
• Prepare treatment estimates and manage daily instrument trays and asepsis.

Orthodontic Assistant

WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY & FRIDAY ROLE!!

Responsibilities

The Orthodontic Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need. An orthodontic assistant prepares the patient for treatment and assists the Orthodontist by preparing materials and equipment for treatment for the Orthodontist use.

Skills Required to Make a Great "Impression" on Our Team

• Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor.
• Ability to change and remove wires, brackets, and adhesive, take impressions, take scans, prepare teeth for bonding
• Prepares treatment estimates for review and discussion with patient.
• Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
• Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years' experience
• State Licensure where specified
• Valid Dental Radiographer License for respective state requirements
• CPR Certification Required
