Job description

About the company

Biorce is a pioneering Healthtech company dedicated to revolutionizing drug development through the power of AI. We are passionate about accelerating medical advancements and improving patient outcomes.

Our team comprises seasoned clinical research professionals, data scientists, and AI experts, working collaboratively to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world clinical needs.

With an unwavering commitment to revolutionize healthcare, we envision a world where all patients benefit from accelerated and cost-effective access to treatments. Biorce is poised to redefine the landscape of healthcare, shaping a future where innovation and accessibility converge for the betterment of humanity.

About the role

The Sigma Team sits within Biorce's CSO's Office and owns a core slice of Biorce's product portfolio, the tools clinical research professionals, sponsors, and study teams rely on every day.

Sigma's mandate isn't a single line of features; it's a portfolio that needs to feel coherent, prioritised, and alive to what customers are telling us. The team holds the vision for each product it owns, decides where capacity goes across the set, and makes sure the whole portfolio thrives.

For a Product Owner, that means you own a product with a real customer base and a real commercial mandate, and you own it as part of a portfolio, not in isolation.

We are looking for a Product Owner to join the Sigma Team in Austin and take end-to-end ownership of one of Biorce's most strategically critical products: an AI simulation and forecasting engine for clinical trials, built to predict trial outcomes, optimise protocol design, and de-risk development decisions before a single patient is enrolled.

You will hold the vision, the roadmap, and the commercial outcome for that product, working directly alongside Product Design, AI Engineers, and an embedded Scientific Lead, and partnering with the other Sigma product owners so it connects cleanly to the rest of the portfolio.

This is a hands-on ownership role, not a specs-over-the-wall one. Biorce runs on an AI-First, Always Shipping model: you author the PRD as the source of truth, vibe code the prototype with Claude alongside the Designer and Scientific Lead, and hand engineering something demoable rather than theoretical. Cycles are measured in weeks, and you stay permanently assigned as the long-term owner, through commercial questions, the next evolution, and the decision to plateau. If this way of working sounds uncomfortable, this is not the right role.

Who We're Looking For

You're a product owner who has shipped, not just planned. You've taken at least one product from zero to real users, you've owned technical decisions and been held accountable for engineering outcomes without being an engineer yourself, and you measure cycle time in weeks rather than quarters.

You're a relentless self-teacher. You've picked up new tools, languages, and domains repeatedly without a course or a manager telling you to, adaptability is your moat, and vibe coding is just the latest example of it.

You've built or led AI-powered products, and you're comfortable working with scientists and researchers as collaborators rather than stakeholders. Clinical trial expertise isn't required on day one, but you will become fluent in the fundamentals of trial design, endpoints, and biostatistics within 60 days, we will measure this, and the Scientific Lead is your partner, not your shield.

You know how to design for technically sophisticated users, biostatisticians, clinical operations leads, medical directors, who will immediately distrust a product that feels imprecise or oversimplified. You prioritise ruthlessly, surface risks early as options and trade-offs, and stay productive when priorities shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Product Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the roadmap and long-term vision, anchored in business outcomes and sequenced against the wider Sigma portfolio.

  • Author the Requirements: Write the PRD as the single source of truth, precise enough that an AI can implement it line-for-line.

  • Build and Ship: Vibe code the prototype with the Designer and Scientific Lead, hand a demoable product to the engineering squad, and stay engaged daily through production.

  • Partner on Accuracy: Work with AI Engineers on measurable model improvement, with benchmarking in place from v1 so progress is provable.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Delivery: Drive alignment across Engineering, Design, and Science, and work with the other Sigma product owners so the portfolio feels like one platform to the customer.

  • Champion Customer Focus: Run discovery with biostatisticians, clinical operations leads, and trial design teams, and translate clinical constraints into product requirements alongside the Scientific Lead.

  • Drive Market & Competitive Insight: Own competitive analysis and positioning against incumbent platforms, and turn what you learn into roadmap decisions.

  • Own Product Performance: Own technical KPIs (availability, accuracy, deployment health) and business outcomes (usage, adoption, gross profit), and decide when to iterate and when to start the next cycle.

  • Own Go-to-Market: Set GTM strategy and coordinate launches with Marketing and Sales.

  • Adapt to Change: Thrive in a fast-moving environment, discard work without ego when strategy evolves, and drive things to completion when the path isn't perfectly clear.

Must-haves

  • 4+ years building product, with at least one product taken 0-to-1 to real users.

  • Proven shipping velocity in a fast-moving environment, strong scale-up experience preferred. If you've shipped fast inside a larger pharma-tech company (Veeva, Medidata, Flatiron-class, Saama, IQVIA Tech), tell us; we evaluate on velocity, not org chart. Experience exclusively in slow-moving enterprises or large pharma without a fast-shipping product team will not be considered.

  • Ownership of technical product decisions, with accountability for engineering outcomes, without being an engineer yourself.

  • Demonstrated ability to vibe code with Claude or equivalent AI coding tools. You have personally shipped working prototypes, not just designs, specs, or wireframes, we will ask you to walk us through one, and you'll build a small prototype during the interview loop.

  • Comfort operating inside a multi-product portfolio, with the judgement to prioritise where impact is highest and say no to noise.

  • Excellent written communication, you can turn an ambiguous problem into a spec a team can build from without a follow-up meeting.

  • Ideal backgrounds: ex-founder (product to at least Seed or Series A), established PO / Product Lead from a scale-up, or a relentless product operator inside a fast-shipping team.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building simulation, forecasting, or probabilistic modelling products where output quality is measured against ground truth.

  • Background in clinical research, life sciences, pharma, or a regulated healthcare environment.

  • Familiarity with clinical trial operations, protocol design, endpoints, biostatistics, or eClinical systems (EDC, CTMS, eTMF).

  • Experience partnering directly with scientists or researchers as part of the product team.

  • Hands-on with product analytics and able to query data independently (e.g. SQL, Amplitude, Mixpanel).

  • Experience owning GTM strategy and launch coordination with Sales and Marketing.

  • Understanding of regulated-environment requirements such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or HIPAA.

  • A technical or scientific background (engineering, computer science, or life sciences) that lets you go deep with your teams.

  • Additional languages, we’re an international team.

Why Join Us?

  • A dynamic work environment with an international team, where collaboration and diversity thrive.

  • Work alongside top talent, AI Engineers, an embedded Scientific Lead, and a designer, united by a shared purpose and committed to making a real impact.

  • Direct visibility into the CSO's Office and the product decisions shaping Biorce's clinical research portfolio.

  • Permanent ownership of a product that matters, in an operating model built for weeks-long cycles rather than six-month delivery plans.

  • Competitive compensation and significant growth potential in a rapidly scaling organisation.

  • Comprehensive private health coverage to ensure your physical and mental well-being.

  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility to balance your professional and personal life.

  • Company events to celebrate achievements and enjoy time together.

  • Get equipped with a MacBook to enhance your productivity and work experience.

  • Our office is pet-friendly! You'll likely be greeted by a few wagging tails upon arrival.
