Job summary

Merchants Distributors, LLC is seeking an Order Selector to move through the warehouse with an electric pallet jack and voice-picking systems. You will hand-build pallets, stack items, wrap and tag finished orders, and transport them to loading doors, while adhering to safety and quality standards. A reach lift may be used as needed.

Shift is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a split schedule and compensation includes weekly pay, benefits, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Stand Up Lift Truck experience preferred.
• Must pass post offer drug test and background check.
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confirm picks by voice and use a scanner to enter product data.
• Stack cases on pallets, wrap and tag, then move to loading door.
• Operate reach lift as needed during shifts.
• Maintain a minimum weekly productivity of 155 cases/hour.
• Cross-train for loading and stand-up lift operations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

An Order Selector moves through the warehouse on an electric pallet jack and hand picks cases, and other containers of food and non-food products from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems using a Voice Acknowledgement system. The Order Selector physically hand places the items on pallets, hand building the pallet and hand stacking the items until the order is fullfilled. The completed orders are moved to the loading dock staging area with an electric pallet jack / forklift, wrapped, labeled, and readied for shipment in a timely manner. Order Selectors must observe all safety regulations and ensure all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Shift: 7:00 AM -3:30 PM/until completed

Schedule: Split Schedule, Off One Weekday & Saturday

Responsibilities

• Confirm picks by voice and use a scanner to enter random weight products.
• Stack cases of various shapes and weights on a pallet neatly and efficiently, fully hand wrap and tag pallets after completing each order and transport the pallets to the correct loading door.
• Order selectors will be loading and driving the reach lift as needed.
• Ability to maintain a minimum weekly productivity average of 155 cases/hour.
• Order selectors may be trained to perform other tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Loading – scan and confirm pallets to the correct trailer and in the correct position. Checking the quality of each pallet and report issues, such as damages and instability to the supervisor.
  • Stand up lift truck operation – assist selectors by retrieving and scanning pallets from upper level reserve slots and confirming them into lower level pick slots.
• May be required to perform other assignments requested by the manager, within the scope of the function/department and with the proper training, as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous Stand Up Lift Truck experience is a plus.
• Must pass a post offer drug test and background check.
• High School Diploma, equivalent work experience preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule if needed.
• Ability to work independently, and with minimal supervision in a high volume, time sensitive, warehouse environment with limited direction.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 100 pounds or more, depending on the location, throughout shift.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changes, possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
