Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring an Order Selector to assemble and prepare customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will locate, lift, and palletize items, operate pallet jacks, and ensure safe wrapping and packaging for shipment.

The role requires the ability to work in multi-temperature areas, follow verbal and written instructions, and maintain a clean, safe workplace while meeting production standards. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive Total Rewards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior order selecting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating powered industrial equipment preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • Ability to work in multi-temperature environments and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and lift cases, boxes, or pallets for delivery using order sheets or headset.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment such as pallet jacks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and inspect equipment using a safety checklist.
  • Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock items.
  • Apply proper wrapping techniques to secure products and prevent damage.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible to complete orders by selecting products from the warehouse racks and to assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders. An Order Selector may be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas including refrigerated and freezer compartments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products in specific quantities for delivery to customers by using order sheets or an audio headset.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.
  • Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.
  • Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
