Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Warehouse Selector in Manassas, VA. You will select cases and move product between the loading dock and warehouse, using pallet jacks and forklifts to fulfill customer orders efficiently.

The position requires standing, walking, lifting 10–35 lbs regularly and up to 60–100 lbs, plus EPJ certification within training. Schedule: Sun-Thu with varied start times; hourly pay starts at $23 during training and averages $26–$40 with incentives.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Lift 10-35 lbs regularly and up to 60-100 lbs depending on location.
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Ability to become EPJ certified within the new-hire training period.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule and prepare supplies for operations.
• Perform safety checks on pallet jack/forklift and ensure safety devices work.
• Wear required PPE and safety gear.
• Move pallets on pallet jack along racks to locate products per orders.
• Load appropriate stock items from pick slots to pallets as required.
• Transport completed orders to shipping dock staging and wrap for shipment.
• Replace batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• Secure equipment and complete paperwork at shift end.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards per location guidelines.
• Report unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Hours: 8-11 hrs/day (avg. 10)
• Training Pay: $23/hr
• Earnings: $26-$40/hr average with performance incentives and bonuses

Position Summary

Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company's success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards. As a Selector, you will select and move product between the loading dock and the warehouse and within the warehouse. You may also utilize company provided equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, tuggers, carts, etc.

The Selector selects cases and other containers of food and non-foods products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Items are placed on pallets and completed orders are moved to the loading dock staging area with an electric pallet jack / forklift, wrapped, labeled, and readied for shipment in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Reviews work schedule, obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
• Performs safety check on pallet jack / forklift to be used and ensure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Places pallets on pallet jack and operates along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually places the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required. Uses single and/or double pallets as directed.
• Transports completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
• Removes batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Ensures work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Electric pallet jack experience

Qualifications

• Ability to work scheduled/assigned shifts, including required overtime
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, stack, and/or pull product weighing 10-35 lbs. regularly and up to approximately 60-100 lbs. (location dependent)
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Ability to become EPJ certified within the new-hire training period
• Ability to complete required training independently
