Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking an Order Selector to pick products from warehouse racks and assemble, palletize, and wrap pallets for customer orders. You may operate powered equipment and work in dry, cool, or frozen areas, following safety policies.

The role requires physical activity, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance, and adherence to instructions in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position with steady hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior order selecting experience preferred.
• Prior experience operating power industrial equipment preferred.
• Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
• Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and pallets for delivery to customers using order sheets or an audio headset.
• Operate powered industrial equipment, including single and double pallet jacks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and inspect equipment.
• Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low-volume items.
• Utilize proper wrapping techniques to secure pallets and protect products.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

An Order Selector may be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas including refrigerated and freezer compartments. WHAT YOU'LL DO:Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products in specific quantities for delivery to customers by using order sheets or an audio headset.Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. WHAT YOU'LL NEED:High school diploma or GED preferred.Prior order selecting experience preferred.Prior experience operating power industrial equipment preferred.Must perform assigned tasks accurately while meeting production standards in a fast-paced warehouse operation.Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures.Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned.
