Job summary

Ganahl Lumber is seeking an Order Puller in Corona, California, responsible for receiving and processing customer orders to ensure satisfaction. Candidates should have a high school diploma and the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely.

Job Summary: The Order Puller receives and processes incoming and outgoing orders for materials, and/or merchandise to satisfy customer requests.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None

Duties / Responsibilities

• Verify customer and order information for correctness, checking it against previously obtained information as necessary
• Receive and respond to customer orders as required
• Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing.
• Recommend merchandise or services that will meet customer’s needs.
• Inspect outgoing work for compliance with customers’ specifications.
• Check inventory system to determine availability of requested merchandise.
• Notify appropriate departments when supplies are low, or when orders would deplete available supplies.
• File copies of orders received, or post orders on records as required.
• Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Adhere to company policies and work requirements.

Required Skills / Abilities

• The ability to read, write, understand, and relay written and verbal instructions.
• The ability to operate various hand and power tools when needed.
• The ability to operate various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts when needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months of related experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, while working either indoors or outdoors.
• Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment.

Other Requirements

• Must be able to successfully pass pre‑employment and required drug screens as requested.
• Must be able to successfully pass a Physical Capacity Assessment as requested.

Expectations of the Role

• Building and pulling all will call orders that are scheduled for same day or next day delivery.
• Making cuts on customers’ orders for lumber they purchased.
• Loading and unloading customer's vehicles safely and efficiently with their will call orders or now orders.
• Pulling orders for “Now” customers and helping build loads for “will call orders” when needed.
• Greeting customers throughout our yard and store with great hospitality.
• Following directions from your immediate supervisor and manager.
• Stocking a range of different building materials and lumber when needed.
• Helping out with BTS or sweeping yard or emptying out trash cans, etc.
• Maintaining housekeeping standards in the yard and store throughout the workday.
• Follow safety procedures at all times while working in the yard and store, such as wearing safety glasses when cutting and no Bluetooth usage.
• Do daily forklift log sheets for the forklift you will be operating.
• Help out will call counter and or guard shack if and when needed.
• Complete any other tasks/work load assigned by your supervisor or manager.
• Working Saturdays 7a-4p.
• Working hours 9:30a-6:00p M-F and Saturdays 7a-4p. Working shifts can and will change to meet organizational needs.
