Job summary

Empower Pharmacy is seeking an Order Processing & Fulfillment Technician for the 2nd shift in Houston, TX. In a regulated 503A/503B environment, you will manage order entry, dispensing, verification, and packing with AI-assisted processes to ensure speed, accuracy, and compliance.

You will work with QA, inventory, and supply chain teams, leveraging ERP systems and AI tools to optimize fulfillment while maintaining cGMP standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in pharmacy operations, order fulfillment, or inventory management.
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and process customer orders accurately in applicable systems.
  • Pick, dispense, and fill pharmaceutical products according to procedures and standards.
  • Perform verification steps for correct product, quantity, lot, expiration, labeling, and order info.
  • Pack completed orders with proper handling and temperature controls.
  • Monitor inventory levels using AI tools to prevent shortages and align resources.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and production to ensure specifications are met.

Position Summary:

In this critical role within Empower's hyper-growth, highly regulated 503A/503B environment, the Order Processing & Fulfillment Technician leverages AI to enhance speed, scale, quality, and decision‑making in pharmaceutical operations. By ensuring precision in order fulfillment and compliance with cGMP, this role directly impacts business success and patient outcomes. Ownership encompasses executing strategic workflows, aligning with Empower’s mission to expand affordable healthcare access. Responsibilities:
  • Accurate Order Entry: Accurately enter, review, and process customer orders in applicable systems, ensuring all required order details are complete, accurate, and compliant with company procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • Product Dispensing and Filling: Accurately pick, dispense, and fill pharmaceutical products according to approved procedures, order requirements, product specifications, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Verification Activities: Perform required verification steps to confirm the correct product, quantity, strength, batch or lot number, expiration date, labeling, and order information prior to release for fulfillment.
  • Packing and Shipping Accuracy: Properly pack completed orders according to product requirements, shipping method, temperature controls, handling instructions, and company procedures to protect product quality and integrity during transit.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels using AI tools to predict needs and prevent shortages. Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations, reduce waste, and maintain uninterrupted fulfillment processes, while applying strategic decision‑making to align resources with demand.
  • Quality Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance and production teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure products meet established specifications. Employ AI analytics to enhance quality control measures, ensuring products align with Empower's standards of excellence and safety.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of order components, including batch/lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities, to ensure full traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements. Utilize AI‑driven documentation systems to enhance data precision and regulatory adherence.
  • Hygiene Protocols: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the fulfillment area. Implement AI monitoring systems to uphold safety standards, preventing contamination and ensuring a safe, compliant working environment.
  • Compliance Adherence: Stay updated with cGMP, GDP, and FDA regulations, applying AI‑enhanced learning tools to continually advance compliance knowledge. Ensure all processes and operations align with industry standards, enhancing Empower's reputation for excellence.
