Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or process engineering environment; demonstrated leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Order Process team to ensure productivity, accuracy, and quality.
  • Set clear performance expectations; provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Promote a strong team environment through communication, accountability, and leadership by example.
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure balanced workloads and timely order completion.
  • Monitor and track performance metrics to uphold productivity and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to review process flow, tolerance requirements, and production documentation before release to manufacturing.
  • Review and validate production drawings, process documentation, and order processing activities for compliance with GD&T and contractual requirements.

Salary Range: $92,404.05 To $120,000.00 Annually

Kamatics is seeking an Order Process Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Order Processing function within Manufacturing Engineering. This role combines technical manufacturing knowledge with team leadership to ensure production drawings, process documentation, and order processing activities meet engineering, contractual, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate has a foundation in manufacturing or process engineering, blueprint interpretation, and GD&T, along with proven leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Order Process team to ensure high levels of productivity, accuracy, and quality.
  • Set clear performance expectations; provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members.

  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure balanced workloads and timely completion of orders.
  • Monitor and track performance metrics to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to review process flow, tolerance requirements, and production documentation before release to manufacturing.
  • Review and validate production drawings, process documentation, and order processing activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and contractual requirements.Develop and maintain documentation and controls to support compliance and consistency.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to management.
  • Drive Lean initiatives to improve cost, throughput, product flow, quality, and delivery.
  • Identify and implement process improvements; streamline workflows across manufacturing cells.
  • Lead or support projects to meet cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
  • Support the team in identifying and resolving issues related to machining processes, process flow, engineering drawings, tolerance stack-up, and assembly requirements.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with 5S standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies.
  • Deliver a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
  • Support cross-training and contribute to team flexibility as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical manufacturing experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or process engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (formal or informal)

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining operations, and production flow.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) is highly valued.
  • Understanding of tolerance stack-up, process development, and manufacturing process flow.
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies between engineering drawings, process documentation, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems and the ability to interpret production drawings.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing process development, tolerance studies, or production routing is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
  • Proven leadership ability with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Results-driven and dependable.
