Job summary

Performance Foodservice, a PFG broadline distributor, is seeking a warehouse associate to pick cases from multi-level racks and prepare orders for loading, ensuring safety and accuracy in Johnson City, TN.

You’ll operate a pallet jack, follow safety policies, and meet productivity standards while supporting timely shipment. Benefits start day one, with opportunities for growth within a team dedicated to reliability and customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly.
• Ability to lift 10-60 lbs and up to 100 lbs location dependent.

• Pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
• Ability to become EPJ certified during training.
• Ability to complete required training independently.

Responsibilities

• Select cases and containers to fill customer orders from multi-level rack systems.
• Move completed orders to loading dock using pallet jack or forklift as needed.
• Wrap and label pallets for shipment and ensure timely delivery.
• Follow safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Perform duties as assigned by team lead to support operations.

Position Details:

• Pay $19.56 an hour to start; then $24-$28 average hourly after training.

Position Summary

Select cases and other containers of food and non-food products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Items are placed on pallets and completed orders are moved to the loading dock staging area with an electric pallet jack/forklift, wrapped, labeled and readied for shipment in a timely manner observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

• Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Review work schedule, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations. Perform a safety check on pallet jack/forklift to be used and insure that all other safety devices are functioning properly. Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Place pallets on pallet jack and operate along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually place the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required. Use single and/or double pallets as directed.
• Transport completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
• Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work scheduled/assigned shifts, including required overtime
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, stack, and/or pull product weighing 10-35 lbs. regularly and up to approximately 60-100 lbs. (location dependent)
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Ability to become EPJ certified within the new-hire training period
• Ability to complete required training independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using a motorized pallet jack
