Job summary

Food & Paper Supply, a recognized food and paper distributor serving the south suburbs of Chicago (Alsip), seeks an Order Picker to assemble orders, move stock, and support packing activities on a Sunday–Thursday night shift. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, maintain accuracy, and communicate with supervisors to ensure on-time fulfillment.

The role requires safety-mindedness, ability to work independently, and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Six months warehouse operations experience preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and order-picker equipment.
• Must be able to work Sunday–Thursday 8:00pm–3:00am.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve goods from the warehouse to fill customer orders.
• Stock pallets with product effectively.
• Notify supervisor of misplaced, damaged, or expired items.
• Check packing list for accuracy and inspect goods.
• Assemble customer orders and place on pallets or deliver to packing desk.
• Update computer ordering system.
• Use order-picker truck to pull orders as needed.
• Ensure order picking is safe, accurate, and efficient.

Job description

Food & Paper Supply, an established food and paper distributor located in the south suburbs of Chicago (Alsip), is seeking a Order Picker. The Order Picker will retrieve stock to fill customer orders and transport items to the shipping desk for packing. This person should have the ability to work well under pressure, independently and be a team player. This position works Sunday - Thursday, 8:00pm-3:00am
Salary: $15 - $17/hour

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from the order desk and retrieves goods from the warehouse.
• Stock pallets with product effectively.
• Notify supervisor of products misplaced, damaged, or expired.
• Checkpacking list for accuracy and inspects collected goods.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or delivers order to packing desk.
• Updatecomputer ordering system.
• Usean order-picker truck to pull orders when needed.
• Ensurethe order picking process is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Six months of experience in warehouse operations preferred.
• Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, standard forklifts, and order-picker forklifts when needed.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
• Will be subject to moderate to loud noise.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
