Job summary

American Wholesale Book Company in Florence, AL seeks an Order Filling Trainer to lead training for order filling associates and perform all order filling tasks including picking and staging. The lead conducts random audits to ensure accuracy and quality, supporting AWBC core values.

This role requires a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to train new team members, with availability 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday–Friday; overtime is expected during the busy season in Oct and Nov.

Qualifications

• Must have a positive attitude and be willing to patiently train new people.
• Must be available 7AM to 5:30 PM Monday – Friday with excellent attendance. Overtime required during busy season Oct & Nov.
• Age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Trains order filling associates on how to perform their duties.
• Trains newly hired order filling associates, following established methods and procedures
• Fills store and customer orders for all customers.
• Responsible for removing product from shelves as requested.
• Add or remove labels from product as assigned
• Scan or key orders per established process
• Responsible for following all safety rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Accurately identify the correct items from their correct location.

Job Description:

The Order Filling Trainer reports directly to the Order Filling Manager. Provides training to the order filling associates as needed. Responsible for completing the work of an order filling associate. The Order Filling Trainer performs all order filling functions including but not limited to: Picking orders, pulling merchandise to fill orders through direction of voice pick headset device, stacking items into totes and onto carts/conveyor belt in a fast and accurate manner. The Lead conducts random audits to ensure accuracy and order filling quality standards are met. The lead demonstrates behavior that supports AWBC core values.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Skills
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Prior experience using radio-frequency scanner preferred.
• Ability to make on the spot decisions based on training and experience.
• Basic Mathematical Skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
• Read and write legibly. Including very small print.
• Listen to information, and follow directions provided through an electronic headset.
• Walk up to 8 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/building.
• Use hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activities.
• Lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
• Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
